Electrical Design

Our electrical department is built up of experienced electrical designers, software engineers, commissioning engineers, panel manufacturers and installation engineers.

Our engineers have experience in designing and programming with many types of PLC’s, HMI’s and inverters. Over the years they have specialised with Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Modicon PLC’s, Panelview, Proface and MAC / E series human machine interfaces and Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Danfoss, ABB and Control Techniques inverters.

We very often have to design our control systems to customer specifications, both control wise and materials used. We welcome our customers to visit our site at various stages of the project and because the entire project is being done in house, we can easily accommodate changes to the specification before the equipment is delivered to site, reducing costly modifications once in production.

At Ferguson Engineering we test all equipment before going out to site. This improves the efficiency of our installations and reduces commissioning time.

Once on site our fully qualified installation engineers have all the experience and the correct tools and materials to carry out a first class installation. Once again much preparation work will have been carried out at our workshop to ensure an efficient and accurate installation takes place. A smooth installation reduces mistakes and can save hours during commissioning.

When the installation is complete and the installation tests have been carried out, our commissioning engineers will then methodically work through the system to ensure that not only will it function correctly in normal conditions, that it is rigorously put to the test, with out of the ordinary events. All securities and emergency stop functions will be tested. If an HMI is fitted all alarms will be checked for correct text.

When the system starts up for production, our engineers will remain on site to liase with the customer and to ensure the operators are trained on how to use the equipment correctly. Our systems are CE marked and are supported with a comprehensive maintenance manual. If required training sessions can be provided for maintenance engineers and can be tuned to accommodate the required level for the customer.
