Duties:

The post holder is responsible for undertaking a wide range of manufacturing processes, operating to high standards of quality whilst promoting and supporting continuous improvement within the Sheet Metal Fabrication Department.

 

Job Description:

  • To fully set and operate Trumpf CNC Press Brakes

  • To maintain programs within the machines eliminating programming errors

  • To be able to forward plan and load plan for day machine production

  • To communicate with colleagues and internal production to ensure the smooth running of the Sheet Metal/ Fabrication Department

  • Operate relevant machinery and tools in a safe manner

  • To maintain a high standard and quality of work

  • To clean and maintain machines and work area

Knowledge and Skills Requirement:

  • As the Press Brake Operator you must be able to read, understand and fully interpret engineering drawings.

  • Experience in setting and operating Trumpf / Amada / Bystronic / Edwards press brakes.

  • Good experience of modern manufacturing techniques.

  • Ability to understand CNC programmes.

  • Recognised served engineer apprenticeship, City and Guilds or equivalent is advantageous.

  • Ability to lift products up to a maximum 25kg unaided.

  • Able to communicate effectively face to face.
